Hi all! It's been a long time since I last made a post but I guess that's what happens when you get a new little cutie in your life!
This necklace and earring set is the first new pieces that I have made in a few months so I am really pumped to show them off! They're something simple but I am still loving mixing up different types of metal finishes...gold, silver, bronze...why not throw them all in there!
This pearl necklace is made using one of my favorite chain techniques. The technique is called a "yin-yang chain" and I have used it to join delicate white pearls together to form this necklace. The clustered pearl pendant was also designed and handmade yours truly!
As many of you know Luke and I just had our sweet little baby girl Olive!
I have decided to make this blog post in honour of our beautiful daughter. I made this necklace and earring set before she was born and the more I look at it the more the green stones start to look like little green olives. Okay, maybe it's a bit of a stretch and just an excuse to bring Olive into my blogging but I'm a gushy new mom and can take such liberties!
I haven't featured a pair of earrings in a while so I thought I would choose a pair that I deem "Signature Rox On." The links in these earrings are 100% handcrafted. Although the pictures below only show them in gold they are also available in silver, bronze, and one style that uses a combination of all three metals. $30 a pair
This necklace is exactly as the title of this post describes it! It combines gold chain with handmade bronze links, round yellow stones, and a pendant with some Rox On flair in the centre. The final product...a unique piece like no other.
Despite the wide range of colours and styles that are present in my jewelry I can safely say that I would love to keep and wear everything I make. However, there are some pieces that I create that are harder to sell than others. Hence, the piece I call the Aventurine Dream! I had so much fun making this necklace and I love the way it turned out. I used mostly green aventurine stones but decided to hang them on a chain to balance out the fullness of the strung and knotted beads. I had made two of them, one has since sold, and the other one has been calling to me ever since. It is for sale...but with a slightly heavy heart. =) $50 10" long with a 2" extending chain
With leather being so popular why not add some to your accessories as well! This necklace is strung on a brown leather cord with earthy brown beads and a carved wood pendant. My favourite part...the brown and black leather knots that give this necklace a spiky look! But don't worry, these leather pieces are so soft that you barely feel them against your skin. $40 10" long
Every once in a while I get asked to create a custom piece of jewelry. This has included jewlery for weddings, formal events, or just because someone had an idea in their head that they would like to see come to life.
Below I am featuring my most recent Custom Rox. For the first set I was asked by Renee Senko from Wilde and Company Chartered Accountants to design a necklace and matching earrings using three sapphire gems that she had provided for me. This offered me the challenge of first finding then mounting the gems on sterling silver settings. After this was completed I created three different styles using sterling silver chain and components for Renee to choose from. She choose a drop necklace that sits just on the collarbone and has a delicate "montana blue" swarovski element accent with earrings to match.
Renee also provided me with three silver flower pendants. I used these to create a necklace and earring set for Renee's teenage daughter Kendal.
For the longest time I had been a "silver jewelry only" kind of gal. Lately, I have really loved gold pieces so when I found this pendant on line I had to order it! It's strung on a gold plated chain and sits beautifully on the collarbone. A definite must have!
Despite my love of big, bold jewelry I do make sure that I take the time every once in a while to create simple, versatile pieces. Below I am featuring two sets of earrings, one silver and one gold. They are both what I consider classic pieces that would add a subtle touch to an outfit that may be more dramatic in itself.
I love getting jewelry suggestions and requests from friends, family, and sometimes even strangers! So when my sister Joanna asked if I had any bright coloured jewelry, Rox On jumped all over it. Here are my first new colourful pieces with more to come! This pendant necklace and matching earrings are made from beautiful red coral chips and swarovski elements. Wear together or separate to add some Red Hot Rox On to any outfit!
These cuff bracelets were completely hand made by yours truly. So fun to make and adjustable to fit any wrist size! I love these because the possibilities with colours and stones are endless. Here are the three I have made so far in blue, green and white stones. $30
These are just a few of the many interpretations of what this
necklace looks like. One thing they can all agree on....it’s unique! 15”
This is another one of the pieces that I wore to compliment
the gorgeous outfit that my sister put together for her blog Colour Moi Beautiful
Joanna for making me and my jewelry look so beautiful!
This week I’m featuring jewelry that I wore on my sister
Joanna’s amazing blog Colour Moi Beautiful (http://colourmoibeautiful.blogspot.ca/)! Joanna had the challenge of
shopping with me to update my wardrobe and also to accommodate for my growing
baby belly. Not only does she have a naturally brilliant eye for fashion but
she also has the passion and drive to get her through an entire day of shopping
with a pregnant woman!
I choose this bold marble necklace with an oversized stone
pendant to compliment this fashionable and extremely comfortable outfit. $50
Every once in a while I try to experiment with chains to see if I can create a different shape or style. This was definitely an experiment gone right! The "X" shaped chains in the centre make for a unique multi-layered look. The Swarovski element pendant in the middle adds a subtle splash of colour. $40
